Water exercise can include swimming, aerobics, jogging or toning. It is great alternative, which enables people to improve muscle tone and cardiovascular conditioning without trauma to the bones and joints while still offering resistance.

It can also be a great addition to your regular workout on land, and is offered year round at many sports clubs and YMCAs.

If you decide to participate in water exercise, you should know how to swim and never swim alone.

When taking group classes check ahead of time to make sure the instructor is certified by a reputable association and is qualified to teach water classes.
